Solid Waste - Holiday Collection Schedule

  1. 2017 Independence Day - Holiday Schedule

    July 4, 2017 - July 8, 2017

The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend garbage, recycling and leaf & limb collections on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in recognition of the Independence Day holiday. If you have residential and/or commercial service with us outside of downtown and your pickup day falls on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, your collection will be delayed by one day. For example, Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday and Friday serviced on Saturday. We will resume our normal pickup schedule on Monday, July 10, 2017. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:30 AM on your altered service pick up day. If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District your service will be picked on the regular schedule. For holiday collection schedules visit (under Holiday Interruptions) or contact the ACC Solid Waste Department at (706) 613-3501.

Solid Waste Events (KACCB and Recycling Division)

  1. 2017 KACCB Litter Index

    May 16, 2017 - July 16, 2017

The Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful (KACCB) Litter Index is a simple tool that provides a quick visual assessment of the amount of litter present in our community. The data obtained through the Index determines the community improvement programs needed to address current conditions and achieve long-term, sustainable results. KACCB is asking citizens to provide input on the litter they see in their community by submitting scores for selected roads in one or more of the districts before 7/16/2017.
