1. If the physical office is closed due to COVID-19. How do I contact my officer?

The Athens-Clarke County Misdemeanor Probation Office is now operating on a restricted basis. Our office doors are currently open for appointments only while we are still limiting & reducing social contact due to the current health concerns. Please email or call your officer if you have any questions.

If you need your officer’s email address, please look under Directory.

Our staff are still able to communicate with the public via email.

The officer will respond within a reasonable amount of time to your questions/concerns during regular business hours.

2. What are the acceptable forms of payment?

Currently, we accept only money orders or certified funds bank checks in the office. You may use your credit card or debit card online to pay for probation payments or pretrial payments.

3. What time does the office open / close? When do the reports start?

Our hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Our lobby is open to the public starting at 9:00 a.m. for reports.

4. Where is the office located? What is it near?

We are located at 110 Bray Street, Athens GA 30601 (Use to be the Advantage Behavioral building). We are just past the Department of Labor off of North Ave if heading from Downtown Athens and just before DFACS if heading towards Hull. Turn off of North Ave onto Bray Street. You will see our sign on the right. Please park in the parking area to your right or in the back of the building. Parking in the front of our building is reserved for handicap use only and it is heavily enforced.  

5. How do I make out the money order?

Make your money order or cashier's check payable to Athens-Clarke County Probation or ACC Probation. Print the full name and address of the probationer below on the lines provided on the money order, especially if you are mailing the money order to our office. If you do not specify a probationer's name, we will not know where to apply the funds.

7. How do I find a substance abuse evaluator in my area?

Go to GA Dept of Behavioral Health which is also on our quick links. You can search for a qualified evaluator and treatment provider by geographic location.

8. What time / date / place / duration / cost is the Victim Impact Panel (VIP)? What do I have to take with me?

The Victim Impact Panel is held the second Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise indicated) at the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse (325 E Washington St, Athens, GA) . It is usually located in State Court on the fifth floor, follow the signs. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. and lasts for approximately one hour. Picture ID is required. A $2.00 cash fee will apply at time of registration.

9. Are you open on holidays?

We are not open on holidays recognized by the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County.

10. What is your fax number?

Our fax number is 706-613-3707. Due to the large volume of faxes, please attention your fax to the appropriate probation officer or administrative staff if known.

11. Are you felony probation? What is that phone number / location?

We are Athens-Clarke County Probation Services and handle all misdemeanor cases within the county. State probation (felony) is located at: 171 Old Epps Bridge Rd. Athens, GA 30601 706-369-6000 or 706-369-6001. Turn right off of Broad Street onto Hawthorne Ave and turn behind Walgreens onto Old Epps Bridge Rd 

12. Can a friend / relative bring in my payment?

A friend / relative can bring a payment in for a probationer providing it is an acceptable form of payment (money order or cashier’s check) and the probationer’s full name and address is on the payment. Making a payment does not relieve the probationer from having to report to Probation Services.

13. Can I fax in a payment?

No. A payment must be made in person, online or by mail using the acceptable form of payment and the probationer’s information.

14. Can you recommend a DUI school?

No. Probation Services does not make any recommendations of required schools such as the Risk Reduction Course which is also known as a DUI school. These are privately owned companies that are certified by the state to teach these classes. Their information can be found in the local phone directory.

15. Do you accept credit or debit cards for payment?

Yes, but only online or at our lobby kiosk. We have a kiosk in the lobby that accepts credit cards or debit card payments in the office. Currently, we accept only money orders or certified funds bank checks at the front desk.
