Continuing with the exhibition of emerging artists, the Lounge Gallery now features the work of Maddie Zerkel. Maddie Zerkel is an artist from and currently residing in Athens. Maddie graduated from the University of Georgia in 2015 with a BFA in Fabric Design. FOLD UNFOLD exhibit
FOLD UNFOLD

Participation Confirmation Deadline: March 1, 2017
Submission Deadline: May 1, 2017

Fold Unfold invites skilled makers to weave functional bedding on manually operated looms as part of an installation at Lyndon House Arts Center. Each coverlet should be informed by overshot geometric patterning popular in the South. To undermine traditional signifiers of class and race, makers will use a modernist color scheme of black, white, and gray. This neutrality will draw attention to the hands of individual makers.

Please email Susan Falls and Jessica Smith at foldunfold2017@gmail.com by March 1, 2017, to establish interest. You will receive a list of deliverables, a documentation form, and mailing address at this time.
