Hike into History!The Leisure Services Department will host a Hike into History at Ben Burton Park on Saturday, February 18 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Take a guided hike with Trails and Open Space staff. Learn about the social, economic, and natural history of our public spaces.
This program is for ages 8 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $2 for ACC residents and $3 for non-resident. Online registration is required.

It's in the Stars!Join us for Planetarium Trivia program in the Sky Center at Sandy Creek Nature Center. Attendees will journey through the night sky, exploring the great beyond. Come see if you can answer questions about space/physics/astronomy. This program is scheduled for Saturday, February 18 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. for ages 5 and older. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
The fee is $2 for ACC residents and $3 for non-residents. This program is not scholarship eligible. Online registration is required.

Spring Program Registration ContinuesThe Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department continues its spring program opportunities for 2023.
A diverse selection highlighting the arts, environmental science, recreation, sports, and holiday events are planned for adults and children. Registration will continue until programs are at full enrollment or they begin.
Individuals must establish a free online account at www.accgov.com/myrec prior to registration. Payment may be rendered using an American Express, debit card, Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, or a MasterCard or Visa gift card.

School HolidayWhen school is out, the Leisure Services Department is in! A variety of themed programs and activities are available to keep children busy while the Clarke County School District is not in session.
Celebrating Inventions Have fun playing trivia games, recreating inventions, and celebrating Black History Month by learning about famous inventions by African-Americans. This program is for ages 6-12 and is scheduled for Monday, February 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Heard Park. The fee is $15 for ACC residents and $22.50 for non-residents. Space is limited. Break Down Build Up: What's just as much fun as building a giant structure? Absolutely DEMOLISHING it, of course. This program is for ages 6-12 and is scheduled for Monday, February 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Lay Park. The fee is $15 for ACC residents and $22.50 for non-residents. Space is limited. Do You Have Your Tickets?“Happiness Rules" is a showcase of dance highlighting the gifted students enrolled in East Athens Educational Dance Center’s Accelerated Programs. Featuring ballet, modern, tap, African and contemporary dance; dancers will perform new works exploring themes of friendship, gratitude, love, and kindness. Curated with the goal of uplifting the audience, the music and choreography are sure to inspire and delight everyone. Guest performances include Atlanta’s Ballethnic Dance Company fresh from its company debut at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Public performances are scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday February 26 at 3:00 p.m. All performances take place at the Morton Theatre at 195 W. Washington Street. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the show (pending availability). Tickets are now on sale.

Countdown to Summer Camp Online RegistrationThe Leisure Services Department will launch summer camp online registration in March. Athens-Clarke County residents may register starting Saturday, March 18 at 9:00 a.m. Non-residents may register starting Monday, March 20 at noon. All registration takes place at www.accgov.com/myrec Camp opportunities will be posted in mid-February.

Summer JobsLeisure Services will hire more than 100 positions for the summer. Applications will be accepted for camp counselors, counselors in training, Grand Slam, lifeguards, and pool clerks.
