"RE-" Student Art Exhibition
The Lyndon House Arts Center (LHAC) announces the opening of the Biennial program, “RE-”, the Clarke County School District Student Art Exhibition. The opening reception is set for Tuesday, October 18 from through January 14, 2023.
LHAC is excited to welcome this ongoing partnership with the Clarke County School District that celebrates the creative youth in our community and the importance of art education. Following these pandemic years, we worked to develop a theme for the exhibit reflective of our shared experience and the hopeful possibilities of rebuilding together.
The exhibit includes works by students from Kindergarten to 12th grade and will include collage, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and weaving. Also included are a number of large collaborative artworks by classrooms and grades.
This year, we are also pleased to announce a partnership with Athens Downtown Development Authority (ADDA). This fall, the ADDA will install streetlight banners throughout downtown featuring the youth artworks.
The “RE-” exhibition is accompanied by a beautiful publication with each student artist’s work pictured. Thank you to all the supporters and sponsors who make this publication possible.
All exhibitions are free of charge and open to the public. Exhibitions are on view during regular gallery hours Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
