BINGO!

Calling all active adults!  Bring your friends and come to Heard Park for the monthly BINGO games!  Everyone will win a prize!  Light refreshments will be served after the final game. Online registration is required.

This program is for ages 50 and older and takes place Tuesday, August 23 from 10:00 a.m. - noon.
The fee is $4 for ACC residents and $6 for non-residents.

Turtle

Zen at the Zoo

Join us Teeny Poses: Tort-ally Zen at Memorial Park to learn some wildly fun yoga poses. Come stretch your limbs and limits with our animal themed moves. 
We will learn poses, read an interactive story, and do a soothing sensory activity.  

This yoga session will be hosted by the Zoo's resident Red-Footed Tortoise, Morrocoy! He will watch and make sure our moves are perfect.

This program is for ages 3 - 6 years and is scheduled for Thursday, September 1 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park. The fee is $3 for ACC residents and $4.50 for non-residents. Parents/chaperones are admitted free of charge and must accompany children.   Online registration is underway.

Soccer

Fall Youth Sports Registration Continues

The youth soccer program is available for ages 5-12. The program is designed for players to learn, develop, and apply fundamental skills.  The season is September 6 – October 25.


Tennis program
 registration is underway. Instruction is designed for beginners and intermediates. The season is August 22-November 10. 

The Department introduces a new program, After School Skate. This activity provides instruction for those who are beginners to those with intermediate skills. This program is for ages 8-14 and takes place Wednesdays or Thursdays, September 5 – October 13 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Skate Park at Southeast Clarke Park.

The Great Outdoors

Join Sandy Creek Nature Center naturalists and discover the beauty around us!  Bring binoculars, a camera, and a sense of adventure. 

This Naturalist's Walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 3 from  10:00  - 11:00 a.m.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required

Drum

Dance & Drum for Young Men

The East Athens Educational Dance Center continues registration for Dance & Drum for Young Men.

A unique class series where African movement and music come together to promote fun, friendships and collaboration and young men develop rhythm, musicality and coordination under the guidance of our instructors.

This program is for ages 6-18 and takes place Mondays, September 12 - October 31 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. The fee is $42 for ACC residents and $63 for non-residents.  Register today!

Trail Guides Needed


Sandy Creek Nature Center is recruiting Trail Guides to assist with elementary school field studies at Sandy Creek Nature Center by leading small groups of students along the Nature Center’s trails. 

Field study programs are designed to introduce nature and the environment to elementary school students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.  

No experience is necessary!  Training provided.

A Classic! 
The Classic City Majorettes

Come twirl with the best! Classic City Majorettes offers instruction in dance-twirling, strutting, marching technique and more! Classes fill quickly.

Students may also have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in community performances depending on COVID.

Classes available for students ages 5 and older and are held at Bishop Park under the covered tennis courts.  Online registration is underway.
