New Art ExhibitThe exhibit, Local Athenian – One Degree of Separation, is on view through June 18, 2022 at Lyndon House Arts Center.
Since November 2020, Emily Cameron has been sharing portraits of local residents on her website The Local Athenian. Through interviews and photographs, Cameron reveals insights into the lives of community members that reach far beyond the surface. As a photographer, she is documenting the people and the place. As an activist, Cameron is celebrating an inclusive community and connecting disparate lives.
Emily Cameron is an eight-year resident of Athens and a lover of people and stories. She created The Local Athenian with the desire to dig deep into the roots that allow this community to flourish. The conversations and stories she shares expand readers’ understanding of and appreciation for the town. Emily says “this is my way of giving back to a community that has always provided an avenue for creative expression in whomever seeks it.”
All exhibitions at the Lyndon House Arts Center are free of charge and open to the public. Exhibitions are on view during regular gallery hours Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
