Community- 260 N Jackson St, Athens, GA 30601

Community is a boutique for sustainable fashion and locally made products. Its clothing label Community Service is created by redesigning vintage clothing into contemporary fashion, thereby extending the life span of quality garments and keeping them out of the landfill. The sewing area is an active part of the retail space to break down the wall between the consumer and the maker to invite curiosity and dialogue about the process of how our clothes are being made and who makes them. Community also offers alteration and repair services and teaches sewing classes designed to show Athenians how to make, alter, and care for their own wardrobe.

If you are interested in hosting a meeting, please contact the Recycling Division.

Toss it? No way!
Repair Café is a free place to meet and fix things, together. Attendees can bring their broken items, and experts are there to help them repair it. Both attendees and specialists are members of the Athens community, and we are working together to foster a culture of reuse and repair before landfill.

Athens-Clarke County Recycling Division partners with community organizations to put on Repair Cafes. Attendees can bring a range of broken items to try and have repaired: bicycles, electrical appliances, toys, clothing, furniture, computers, and more.

FREE coffee provided by Jittery Joe's!

Spraywell application at library

Spraywell

We don't normally share information from vendors but with the continual high COVID numbers I wanted to share a message from Dodd Ferrelle from Spraywell.

Total Infection Prevention Program (T.I.P.P) is a monthly service that applies a safe solution electrostatically that
kills up to reach 99.9% of COVID, Flu, Cold, MRSA viruses, etc. Spraywell also includes free visits during the month in case an employee calls in or goes home sick.  We disinfect their area at no charge as part of the service. Several plants in the area have been using us with great success over the last year and I feel like we can keep all of our Manufacturing partners working and safe throughout the year.
Please go to this link and feel free to share with your industrial partners!
