Request:  A new Planned Development for the existing Kroger store and attached retail spaces. The proposal is a total redevelopment of the 18.68 acre site which involves demolition of the existing 179,748 square feet of commercial space. The new development is to consist of a 116,000 square foot Kroger, 36,410 square feet of detached retail space, 2 acres of green space and parking. This project received comments at the January 2016 Planning Commission meeting and will now have the opportunity for a vote.

REZONE


Request:  Approval of a rezone is requested for three properties at 1760, 1764 & 1774 Old West Broad St. The properties currently contain Athens Orthopedic Clinic MRI and CT Imaging center, a gravel parking lot and a single family residential structure. The properties are across the street from Athens Orthopedic Clinic’s main campus. The applicant intends to keep the medical building, pave the parking lot to ACC standards and use the residential structure as an office for the Clinic. They also seek to construct a crosswalk to provide access between the improvements and the main campus.

Request:  Amendment of an approved Planned Development for the Landmark Hospital complex on Sunset Dr. The applicant seeks to add 11,933 square feet of building and parking modifications in two phases. The work will also incorporate new pedestrian circulation, stormwater and utility upgrades. The use of the property is to remain, the modifications are to increase operational capabilities.

Request:  A new special use permit for a congregate care senior living facility that is restricted to residents over 55 years of age. The complex is composed of three buildings which include 125 units that account for 181 bedrooms. The buildings are proposed to be 3 stories in the front and 4 in the rear where the topography slopes down to McNutt Creek.
