Help Protect Athens Water Resources - Volunteer for Rivers Alive

Site sign-ups are underway for the 2021 Athens Rivers Alive event on Saturday, October 23. Online registration will close on Monday, October 18, so go ahead and reserve your spot today! Registration is required to participate.

Rivers Alive is Georgia's annual volunteer river clean-up event that encourages civic involvement in the preservation of Georgia's precious water resources. Our waterways provide us with fresh drinking water, important wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities that serve as a respite from our day-to-day lives - now more than ever!

This year's event will look slightly different due to COVID-19. We will not be hosting a kick-off event, and we will not accommodate any walk-up/day-of volunteer registration. All volunteers must pre-register on our GivePulse page, which requires reading and signing-off on the Rivers Alive COVID-19 Agreement. We are also offering an
independent clean-up opportunity for those who are not comfortable participating in larger group sites.

On the morning of the event, volunteers will meet directly at their chosen sites and should bring a reusable water bottle, bug spray, wear long pants and close-toed shoes, and come prepared to get wet and dirty.

For more information and to register for a clean-up site, visit www.accgov.com/riversalive. We hope to see you there!
Thank You Rivers Alive Sponsors
