Rain Barrels for Sale!

The Athens-Clarke County Stormwater Management Program is hosting a Winter Rain Barrel sale - just in time for the holidays! Pre-order a barrel for yourself or give the gift of rainwater harvesting to a friend or family member.

Our rain barrel kits are available for purchase for $25.00/kit. Each kit includes a plastic 55-gallon drum and a DIY RainRecycle kit from the Rain Barrel Depot. The kit comes with almost everything you need to install the rain barrel at home, including a FlexiFit down spout diverter.

We have a limited number of kits available and are asking that barrels are limited to one per person with a maximum of two per household. Claimed barrels must be picked up on December 16. After completing the sale form, you will receive an email from Stormwater Staff with instructions on when and where to pick-up your barrel on the 16th. Pick-ups will be done in a contactless drive-thru style.

Please email cecile.riker@accgov.com with any questions.

Nominate a Stormwater Steward

We are now accepting nominations for the 2021 Stormwater Steward Award. The Stormwater Steward Award recognizes environmental stewardship in the area
of stormwater management. Organizations, businesses, individuals, design firms, or community groups that have worked to consider the impact of stormwater runoff on the health of area waters through a specific project, practice, or event are encouraged to apply for the award. Full details and instructions can be found at www.accgov.com/stormwater.

Applications are due on Monday, March 1, and winners will be honored at the annual Green Life Awards in April.
