Animal Services Launches "Couch Crashers" Monthly Weekend Pet Foster Program for Aug. 13-18
As a result of the positive response to the Foster Over the 4th initiative to place foster pets in homes for the Fourth of July weekend, ACC Animal Services is launching a weekend foster program each month called Couch Crashers. Couch Crashers is a collaborative program to engage the community to foster and to give Adoption Center pets a much needed break from kennel life for the weekend.
The first Couch Crashers weekend will begin with foster pickups on Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14, with return dates on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18. All foster pickups and drop offs will be done on an appointment only basis in 30 minute windows from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on those dates. All people and dogs living in the home should come to the appointment to make sure the foster is a good match for all involved.
ACC Animal Services supplies all fosters with a crate/carrier, food, bowls, toys, and a leash and collar.
Residents interested in participating in the Couch Crashers program should first fill out a foster application, which includes uploading a required video tour of the potential foster home, at www.accgov.com/fosterapet.
