We regret to inform you that the Georgia Square Mall recycling drop site at 3700 Atlanta Hwy will be closing indefinitely effective July 31. This decision is primarily driven by the redevelopment of the property that does not fit with a recycling drop-off site.

Contributing factors are chronic staffing issues and the alarming amount of illegal dumping that occurs at the site. This criminal activity not only jeopardizes the environment and public health but also places an enormous burden on our resources and time. Our limited staffing has made it impossible to effectively address and manage this issue. 

Other recycling collection sites within our area will remain open as long as possible. We strongly encourage you to use these alternative locations to continue your recycling efforts. Your trash collection service provider may be able to provide recycling collection service. Together we can work toward waste reduction, environmental preservation, and the promotion of sustainable practices. Information on recycling drop-off sites can be found on our website:

We understand this closure may cause inconvenience. We remain committed to our mission of providing efficient and innovative waste management services to our community, and having these recycling sites available to the public is an integral part of our mission. We are actively working to address the staffing challenges and illegal dumping incidents, and explore solutions that will enable us to best serve our community. In the meantime, the reallocated resources will allow us to provide the elevated customer service we expect.
