The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government (ACCGov) Housing and Community Development Department and Leisure Services Department are currently soliciting proposals from youth service providers to expand youth development and violence prevention programming in summer 2023. A total of $500,000 will be available to non-profits to expand existing youth programs and may be awarded, in varying amounts, to multiple agencies.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) document with complete eligibility and application instructions can be found at www.accgov.com/arpa. Proposals are due no later than February 10, 2023 at 4:00 PM.

Funding goals include:

  • Expand existing youth development and violence prevention programming serving Athens-Clarke County youth under 18 years of age during the summer of 2023 (May 25, 2023 - August 1, 2023). A definition of "expansion" is detailed in the RFP.
  • Focus on at least one of the eligible activities described in the RFP.
  • Prioritize youth development programming that serves youth ages 12-17 years of age whose primary residence is in a Qualified Census Tract and/or the Gaines, Alps, and Howard B. Stroud elementary school zones.
  • Prioritize proposals that are collaborations between at least two but no more than 3 service providers.

A technical assistance conference to respond to all inquiries about this project will be held at 3:00 PM on January 17, 2023 via WebEx. Details and the link to join can be found at www.accgov.com/arpa.
