The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present a variety of nature education programs for families this spring at Sandy Creek Nature Center.
Naturalist’s Walks are planned for Saturdays, March 7 and May 2 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. The hike on March 7 will visit the managed forest area to see what changes have occurred since the beginning of managing it.
Nature’s Trading Post is scheduled for Saturdays, March 7 and May 2 from 11:00 a.m.– noon. The trading post is open! Trade one or two objects you have found in nature for points or other natural objects in our collection.
Critter Tales will take place Saturdays, March 14, April 11, and May 9 from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Participants will hear a story about nature and then staff will bring it to life by visiting a critter or going outdoors for an activity. A different tale is read each month.
All of these programs are free of charge and registration is not required.
