This Saturday, October 26th, ACCPD’s East Precinct Training Room will be transformed into a Haunted House. Tours of the spooky space will be open to the public on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm for children under 10 and from 2 pm to 8 pm for all ages. For admission, ACCPD is requesting a canned, non-perishable food item which will be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
This is the second year that Senior Police Officer Greg Gilchrist has converted the
training room into a Haunted House. Modifying the space took over two days and utilized
Gilchrist’s extensive personal collection of Halloween decorations, costumes, and props.
“Through the years, I’ve collected a number of items that will be used in our Haunted House,”
said Gilchrist, who has been with the ACCPD for 21 years. “The earlier time (10 am to 2 pm) is
more family-friendly - the props and scary figures are stationary and we can turn on the lights.
But from 2 pm to 8 pm, we turn off the lights and do our best to give everyone a good scare. We
really want the community to enjoy the event which in turn will help others through the
donation of canned goods.”
