Concerned citizens have led to the apprehension of two Entering Auto subjects over a couple of days.
On September 21st, 2019, ACCPD Officers responded to a call from a concerned citizen regarding a black male wearing a blue windbreaker and athletic shorts rummaging through their vehicle on Meigs Street. The area was searched, and officers located a subject matching the description. Initially, the subject ran but officers apprehended him after a short foot chase. The subject, 20-year-old Rodrick Jeff of Monroe, was transported to the county jail.
Then, at approximately 22:32 hours on September 22nd, 2019, ACCPD Officers responded to another Entering Auto call from a concerned citizen on Gail Dr. The citizen found his vehicle had been entered into and confronted the offender. ACCPD arrived and detained the subject. The subject, 23-year-old Traquavious Hillsman from Athens was charged with Entering Auto. He also had two active warrants and he was transported to the county jail.
ACCPD reminds residents to “HIDE your things, LOCK your car and TAKE your keys.”
Please remove all valuables from vehicles, especially weapons, during the overnight hours.
