Suspect Arrested and Charged with Murder
Marquavius Knox, 26-years-old of Athens, has been arrested and charged
with the murder of Jamelle Brightwell.

Hickman Drive Homicide
On April 1, 2019, at approximately 5:49 am, ACCPD responded to a Shots
Fired call in the vicinity of Hickman Drive.
Officers arrived on the scene and
located a non-responsive victim, later identified as 19-year-old Jamelle Brightwell
of Bogart. Our officers rendered aid to Brightwell until EMS arrived. Brightwell
was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Our detectives are actively investigating the case and ask that anyone with

at extension 331 or Det. Carroll at extension 292.
