Earlier today, our School Resource Officer (SRO) at Clarke Central High School was made aware that a student on school grounds was in possession of a pistol. Together, our SRO along with school administrators located and isolated the student. The gun was found in the student’s backpack and confiscated.
A juvenile complaint was filed against the student (15-year-old male) for Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds. The student was taken into custody by ACCPD and transported to juvenile detention.
ACCPD and the Clarke County School District take the security of school children and
employees seriously and encourage families to discuss the dangers of weapons in school.
Please remind your children to report any weapons or threats to an adult immediately.
