Star Spangled Classic set for June 29 in downtown Athens

Calling all patriots to gather in downtown Athens for the Star Spangled Classic!  This family friendly Independence Day celebration will take place Saturday, June 29 in downtown Athens on Clayton Street between College Avenue and Thomas Street.

Festival activities begin at 5:00 p.m. and include:

  • live music from the Funk Brotherhood
  • children's activities led by Ladybug Events
  • local dessert vendors Hokulia Shave Ice, Kona Ice, Lil' Ice Cream Dude and La Michoacana es Natural. 

The highlight of the evening will be a fabulous fireworks display scheduled for approximately 9:30 p.m. The fireworks will be synchronized to patriotic music that can be downloaded, free of charge, through the J&M Displays app.

The community is invited to celebrate 243 years of American independence with this family friendly event in historic downtown.
