Trucks traveling with uncovered loads contribute to littered roadways and vehicle accidents. In an effort to reduce roadside litter and protect Athens residents, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful, and the Litter Abatement Steering Committee will celebrate National Cover Your Load Day the week of June 6th. Partners will distribute educational materials and safety resources to raise awareness of the Georgia unsecured load laws and local litter ordinances. Those wanting to pick up a tarp can stop by the Solid Waste Department at 725 Hancock Industrial Way to request a tarp (One per customer, while supplies last). This effort is made possible through KACCB, and the KACCB Non-profit Board of Directors.
