“Happiness Rules" is a showcase of dance highlighting the gifted students enrolled in East Athens Educational Dance Center’s Accelerated Programs.  Featuring ballet, modern, tap, African and contemporary dance; dancers will perform new works exploring themes of friendship, gratitude, love,  and kindness. Curated with the goal of uplifting the audience, the music and choreography are sure to inspire and delight audiences of all ages. Guest performances include Atlanta’s Ballethnic Dance Company fresh from its company debut at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Public performances are scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday February 26 at  3:00 p.m.  All performances take place at the Morton Theatre at 195 W. Washington Street. An abbreviated weekday matinee school performance is scheduled for Thursday, February 23 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Lanes along West Washington Street across from the Morton Theatre will be closed for school bus parking for both performances.

Tickets to the public performances are $15 in advance and $18 the day of the show (pending availability). Tickets go on sale to the public on February 3 and are available to purchase at www.mortontheatre.com. For seats to the weekday matinee, please call the Dance Center at 706-613-3624.
