FREE!!! Celebrate vulture culture at the seventh annual local celebration of International Vulture Awareness Month on Saturday, October 17th! The festival will take place at the ACC Landfill Outdoor Classroom. -Fun Educational Activities -Scout Station -Scavenger Hike -Photo Booth -Earth Quest: Birds of Prey Vulture Program -Morning Bird Walk -Local Art & Community Painting A Bird Walk led by the Oconee Rivers Audubon Society will begin at 8:00 AM. Join the ACC Solid Waste Department Recycling Division, Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail, and the Oconee Rivers Audubon Society as we celebrate Nature's Cleanup Crew - the Vulture! Vultures are vital to healthy ecosystems and face a range of threats in many areas. There will be fun educational activities, EarthQuest Birds of Prey program, food, a scavenger hunt, a bird walk, and much more! This is a FREE event for the whole family!
