Planning Commission Meeting

The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission is a ten-member body composed of ACC residents appointed by the Mayor and Commission for five-year terms. The Planning Commission meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month to deliberate and make recommendations to the Mayor & Commission regarding the Planning & Zoning code, Comprehensive Plan and other planning and development-related matters.

 ITEM 1:
ADDRESS: 715 & 717 Beaverdam Road
REQUEST: Type II Rezone – The purpose of this request is to rezone the 1.79-acre subject property from AR (Agricultural Residential) to RS-25 (Single-Family Residential). The stated purpose of this request is to allow the applicants to split the subject property into two separate parcels under RS-25 standards.

ACTION: Recommended approval with conditions
 ITEM 2:
ADDRESS: 200 Block of Franklin Street
REQUEST: Proposal for renaming 200 block of S. Franklin Street as Jennie L. Mattox Street. At the request of the Mayor and Commission, the Planning Department has initiated proceedings to rename the 200 block of South Franklin Street to Jennie L. Mattox Street. No street addresses would be affected by the changed street name, but Staff has notified the owners and residents of the contiguous parcels about the request and the date of the Planning Commission public hearing.)
