    The Epps Bridge Corridor Study, conducted by a team from UGA’s College of Environment + Design, has for the past year examined challenges and opportunities related to transportation on Epps Bridge Parkway and land use in the corridor, and has developed recommendations for moving forward. Team members will present their findings and solicit public input regarding the recommendations on Monday, April 29th at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Solid Waste - Holiday Collection Schedule

  1. For ACC Solid Waste Customers Only: 2019 Memorial Day Holiday Schedule

    The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend garbage, recycling, and leaf & limb collections on Monday, May 27, 2019 in recognition of the Memorial Day Holiday. If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of downtown and your pickup day falls on Monday, May 27, 2019, your collection will be delayed by one day. For example, Monday will be serviced on Tuesday and Friday serviced on Saturday. We will resume our normal pickup schedule on Monday, June 3, 2019. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your altered service pick up day. If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District your service will be picked up on the regular schedule. Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will alter collection service for the following holidays - New Year's Day, MLK Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Chris

    It is time for our Loop 10 Daffodil Plantings to burst into bloom and during April’s GreenFest and the Great American Cleanup, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful encourages citizens to get outside, enjoy the show, and cleanup our roadways. We are looking for volunteer groups to do a cleanup of our Loop 10 ramps and we have tools to help! Consider adopting a ramp or a road: Adopt-A-Highway is a FREE program for groups who make a four annual cleanup/one-mile commitment. A nameplate, tools, and pick up of your collected trash are provided. Schedule a One-Time Cleanup: Our Down & Dirty Program is perfect for clubs, churches, classrooms, and even individuals and families that need a one-time service project!
