Clarke County Sheriff Ira Edwards, Jr. was a co-presenter at the 4th National Youth Summit on Drugs & Substance Abuse Prevention held in Abuja, Nigeria, October 29-31. This trip to Nigeria was sponsored by D.A.R.E. America International where Sheriff Edwards serves on the Executive Advisory Committee.
Operation Watchful Eye III Operation Watchful Eye III
In 2015, the first coordinated effort involving all sheriffs’ offices across the state to conduct residence verifications and compliance checks of registered sex offenders during a specific time frame was created and became known as Operation Watchful Eye. Due to the overwhelming success of the original initiative, Georgia Sheriff’s again participated and recently conducted Operation Watchful Eye III.
