NEW YEARS DAY SCHEDULE 2024
2024 New Year’s Day Holiday Schedule
If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District your pick up will be on regular schedule.
The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, garbage, recycling, and leaf & limb collections on Monday, January 1st, 2024 in recognition of the New Year's Day Holiday.
If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your pick up schedule will be as follows: Monday and Tuesday will be collected on Tuesday. Wednesday will be collected on Wednesday. Thursday will be collected on Thursday. Friday will be collected on Friday. We will resume our normal pickup schedule on Monday, January 8th, 2024. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick up day.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.
