NEW YEARS DAY SCHEDULE 2023
2023 New Year’s Day Holiday Schedule
- The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, trash, recycling, & leaf & limb collection on Monday January 2nd, 2023 in observation of the New Year's holiday.
- If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your service will be picked on following schedule. Monday collections will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be collected on Wednesday. Wednesday collections will be collected on Thursday, Thursday and Friday collections will be collected on Friday. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick up day.
- If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District you will be picked up on regular schedule.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.
