Crisis Intervention Response Team

Crisis Intervention Response Unit

This cutting-edge program is still very much in its infancy, but generates very specific measurable returns for our investment. The unit is currently staffed by two sworn officers whose responsibilities include liaising with the mental and behavioral health community, assisting in calls for service with a mental health relation, and proactively addressing problems before they have a chance to develop to the crisis stage. The officers assigned to this unit , Senior Police Officer Robie Cochran and Officer First Class Carl Mitcham, also train the department’s officers in Crisis Intervention, and have been recognized across the state.
