Professional Experience: Dexter L. Fisher is retired from both the University of Georgia where he served as Director of Facilities Management and spent 31 years and from the Clarke County School District where he served as Chief of District Services and retired in May 2022.

Civic & Community Experience: Served on the Athens Piedmont Hospital Board and on the Athens Piedmont Hospital Authority. Athens Community Foundation, Athens Rotary Club, and presently serve as the President of UGARA at the University of Georgia which represents all UGA Retirees. He attends Ebenezer Baptist Church-West and serves on the Deacon Board. 

Education: Bachelor Degree of Social work from Mars Hill University where he attended on a Football Scholarship and a Master Degree of Business Administration with a concentration on Leadership and Finance from Piedmont College.

Personal Information: Married to Audrey Fisher and the parents of three adult children and one grandchild. Dexter is originally from Greenwood, SC but has lived in Athens for over thirty years.

Awards & Honors: Dexter was given the Changing the Picture for Athens Children award in 2018 by Family Connections-Communities and The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce "Spirit of Athens " award in 2022 given by the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. 

His initial term began January 3, 2023.
