The sustainability plan is a long-term, community-wide plan that details how we will reduce our environmental impact, grow the economy, and improve the community in which we live. The purpose of this plan is to provide a vision of the specific goal areas and to identify specific steps that are needed to advance this vision for the Athens-Clarke County community. The sustainability plan unites the ideas and efforts of staff across departments, non-profits, businesses, and citizens in the county to achieve a more sustainable present and future for Athens-Clarke county.

Currently, this plan is being revised and being made ready for presentation to key stakeholders and to the public. Stakeholder workshops are underway to conceptualize implementation and will soon be presented to the public for feedback.
