Transit Public Meeting

Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS), the cooperative transportation planning body for the urbanized area which includes Athens-Clarke County, portions of southern Madison County and northern Oconee County, has scheduled a public informational meeting to provide opportunity for the public to review and comment upon a proposed amendment to the FY 2018 -  2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the FY 2022 -  2023 Second Tier of Projects.  This document outlines planned transportation improvements for the long and short term. This notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP will satisfy the Program of Projects (POP) requirements of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 Program.  

Public comment will be accepted December 3 – 17, 2018 concerning a revision in the requested Section 5339 Discretionary Capital funding and 5307 Operating Assistance for the Athens-Clarke County Transit Department. 
 
A public information meeting** has been scheduled for:

**The public information meeting will be drop- in with no formal presentation.  Staff will be available to provide information and answer questions about this amendment at the meeting.


Copies of the draft amendment will be available for review at the MACORTS website (www.macorts.org) or at:

  • Madison County Planning & Zoning Office -  91 Albany Avenue, Danielsville
  •  Athens- Clarke County Planning Department -  120 W. Dougherty Street, Athens
  •  Oconee County Planning & Code Enforcement Dept. – 1291 Greensboro Highway, Rm A108, Watkinsville

Public comment will be accepted from December 3 – 17, 2018.  Comments can be e- mailed to MACORTS Staff at macorts@accgov.com , faxed at 706- 613- 3844 or delivered to any of the aforementioned locations.    


LEP and Participation Plan for Public Meetings

MACORTS has scheduled public informational meetings for the public to review and comment upon the updated the MACORTS / ACC Transit Department Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Plan and the MACORTS Participation Plan.  The LEP Plan outlines measures that MACORTS and ACC Transit Department take to ensure that non- English speakers are not excluded from the transportation planning process or the services of ACC Transit Department.  The Participation Plan outlines how MACORTS will interact with the public within the transportation planning process.  

Public comment will be accepted December 3, 2018 – January 16, 2019 concerning the proposed Limited English Proficiency Plan and Participation Plan.
