Field Trips are not offered the months of June and July.
We offer several options for field trips:
It is free to visit the zoo and park every day of the week from 10AM to 3PM. You are always welcome to bring your students for a visit! You can request our self-guided tour and hand it out to your group leaders as information to share with the students as you explore the zoo. Self-guided tours are offered Mondays and Tuesdays. Although self-guided tours are free, you are required to book your trip using the button below to ensure a good experience for all park visitors.
Some school groups choose to reserve a picnic shelter in the main section of Memorial Park, to ensure one is available for their group to picnic lunch in after visiting the zoo. A shelter costs $50 to rent for a 4 hour time block. Your reservation can be made by calling the Memorial Park office at 706-613-3580. If you are a CCSD school, there is no fee to reserve a shelter, but there is a form to complete. Self-guided tours are offered Mondays and Tuesdays. Although self-guided tours are free, you are required to book your trip using the button below to ensure a good experience for all park visitors.
A zoo program includes 30-minute ambassador animal presentation (where you will meet 3 ambassador animals), a specialized route map and guide for your tour through Bear Hollow Zoo, and a four hour Memorial Park picnic shelter reservation. A zoo program costs $3 per student for CCSD school groups and $5 per student for non-Clarke County groups. Programs are available on Wednesdays through Fridays, beginning at 10AM or later. A minimum of 10 students is required. Use the button below to book a formal zoo tour field trip.
