Weed Warriors at Memorial Park

Memorial Park is currently overrun with a wide variety of non-native invasive plants which are causing habitat destruction and are negatively impacting wildlife populations. 

We want to begin reversing this alarming trend and we need your help.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Join the Weed Warriors invasive-plant eradication project at Memorial Park. We will remove invasive plants and create compost piles to breakdown the material naturally. This is a great project for people who love the park and want to see it restored to its natural state.

WHEN:

  • Every second Saturday of each month (November - April)
  • From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Park in front of Memorial Park's (pink) administration building and follow the signs
  • Please feel free to just show up the day of or to let us know you're coming by calling 706-613-3615 ext. 225 or email trails@accgov.com

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Bring refillable water bottle
  • Must wear:
    • Close-toed shoes
    • Long pants
    • Long sleeves
