About Virginia Callaway-Cofer Walker Park

Named in honor of community activist Virginia Callaway-Cofer Walker, Walker Park features a variety of amenities for organized sports, self-directed play, and funThe park is a popular site for football, rugby, softball, and ultimate Frisbee games and tournaments for teams from across Northeast Georgia. The open park, with plenty of green space, is just minutes from downtown, and is accessible from the Athens Perimeter or from Trail Creek Street. This 113-acre park features: 

  • 2 Lighted Football/Soccer Fields
  • Outdoor Fitness Zone
  • Baseball Practice Field
  • Splash Pad
  • ADA accessible Playground
  • 2 Picnic Shelters
  • Walking Trail
  • Mountain Biking Trails
