Bear Hollow Zoo

Bear Hollow Zoo Closure -- Beginning April 2, 2018
Location 02 | Posted: 8:00 AM, March 16, 2018

Work to improve water availability throughout the zoo will begin on April 2nd and is expected to take no more than 5 days to complete. These repairs will necessitate the use of heavy equipment throughout the zoo. This temporary closure will affect the entire zoo area. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we anticipate that Bear Hollow will reopen for regular hours on Saturday, April 7, 2018. This update to the facility will replace the existing network of fresh water plumbing and spigots to allow for easier access to water for the animal enclosures and facilities within the zoo. The remainder of Memorial Park will remain open through the week so feel free to come feed the ducks, have a picnic, or bring your pet to the dog park!

Bear Hollow Zoo is home to a variety of non-releasable wildlife residents. These animals have encountered a challenge that they could not overcome, either physical or behavioral, and have been placed here to live out their lives serving as ambassadors for their species. They are here to educate our visitors about the wonderful wildlife with which we share space.
Bear Hollow Zoo and Memorial Park are facilities of the ACC Leisure Services Department. Memorial Park is open from 8 AM to sunset on weekdays and 9 AM to sunset on weekends and holidays. Bear Hollow Zoo is open from 9 AM to 5 PM daily.

Bear Hollow Zoo is a popular place for families to come and see Georgia’s native wildlife. Saturdays (and some Sundays) from 1 PM to 4 PM, the Reptile House (located in the center of the zoo) is open to the public, featuring reptile and amphibian exhibits.
