Inclusion Office
The Inclusion Office, a division of the Manager’s Office and based in City Hall, is a new office funded by the Mayor and Commission as part of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget that began July 1, 2019.

Information Technology
The ACC Information Technology Department provides ACC departments with computer networks, information system applications, database management services, and data telecommunication services.

Leisure Services
The ACC Leisure Services Department is responsible for the planning, development, and operation of parks, trails, the zoo facility, recreational and athletic facilities, visual and performing arts facilities, natural resource facilities, and other educational and recreational programs at a variety of ACC facilities.

Manager's Office
The Manager's Office is responsible for the implementation of all policies, programs, contracts, ordinances, and resolutions as approved and directed by the Mayor and Commission. This office performs the administrative functions of the government, which support the activities of the Mayor and Commission.

Mayor
The Mayor is elected countywide for four-year terms for a maximum of two consecutive terms to serve as the head of the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the Chair of the Commission.

Operational Analysis Office
The ACC Operational Analysis Office conducts internal audits of the fiscal affairs and operations of departments, offices, and agencies of the Unified Government. The office provides strategic planning, organizational analysis, feasibility and program evaluations, staffing reviews, and other services all with the intent of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations for the benefit of Athens-Clarke County

Planning Department
The ACC Planning Department effectively manages community change in both the short and long term with regard to land use, transportation, historic preservation, and overall community development in order to ensure that the natural and built environment of Athens-Clarke County are of the highest quality.

Police
The ACC Police Department strives to eliminate crime, fear of crime, and general disorder, while respecting the dignity and worth of all people and establishing an ethically based, problem solving partnership with the community.

Public Information Office
The Public Information Office communicates clearly and openly to the residents of Athens-Clarke County about the government’s goals, activities, and services

Public Utilities
The ACC Public Utilities Department provides water and wastewater (sewer) services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Sheriff
The Sheriff is responsible for the physical health and welfare of all inmates in the jail and the management of their property. The office serves criminal warrants, civil papers, and subpoenas; executes evictions; transports prisoners to court; extradites prisoners from other states to court; and provides security for Athens-Clarke County jail and courthouse.

Solid Waste
The ACC Solid Waste Department provides collection and disposal services that meet or exceed state standards and are responsive to the community's health and sanitary needs.

SPLOST
The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) is a 1-cent sales tax approved by voters that funds a variety of capital projects.

Sustainability Office
The Sustainability Office works as a steward of public resources by promoting practices and policies to innovatively reduce our environmental footprint, grow our economy, and foster a thriving community by networking staff, ideas, and resources across departments and throughout the community to achieve outcomes supported by a long-term sustainability plan.

Tax Assessor
The ACC Tax Assessor's Office appraises all property located in Athens-Clarke County at its fair market value to ensure taxpayers pay no more than their fair share of property taxes.

Tax Commissioner
The ACC Tax Commissioner's Office is involved in the preparation of the digest, collection of ad valorem tax on real and personal property, disbursements of these collections to the levying authorities, and final audit of these transactions.

Transit
Athens-Clarke County Transit provides transportation service in Athens-Clarke County with The Bus and The Lift. ACC Transit carries approximately 1.7 million passengers per year.

Transportation & Public Works
The ACC Transportation and Public Works Department provides technical service for traffic operations systems, construction and maintenance of road systems, engineering inspection of public roads, sidewalks, and drainage facilities, and support services to other ACC projects involving public improvements.
