The Green School Program is designed to assist schools with environmental education and improvement efforts that focus on conservation, preservation, and beautification of our environment. Annually, the program recognizes participating schools that implement exceptional environmental education and improvement programs.

Eligibility

Returning Green Schools need to confirm participation and update their information for the current school year.

New schools can register online. 

Due September 30, 2023.

Lesson Submission Deadline April 30, 2024.

 Green Teachers Strive for 5!

To be recognized as a Green Teacher, at least five lesson plans/projects from the following areas must be completed and turned in to the Green Schools Committee: (1) Recycling/Waste Reduction  (2) Beautification/Litter Prevention/School Improvement  (3) Water Education  (4) Environmental Education Related Community Service  (5) Other Environmental Education Activity.

Green Schools Strive for 25!

A total of twenty-five environmental education activities must be documented throughout the academic school year in order to achieve Green School status.

Yearly Renewals

To maintain the Green School status, a school must strive for twenty-five each school year. Annual renewals will receive a year sticker to place on their Green School driveway sign and (when available) grants to expand or sustain Green School activities.
