Project Summary: This project is to replace/realign a section of sanitary sewer main at a tributary of Turkey Creek in the easement between Merlin Drive and Roberts Road.  This line serves homes and businesses on Merlin Drive, Chalise Court, Kings Circle, Lavender Road, and Jefferson Road.  Creek erosion impacts and terrain make this a difficult area to access for design.  There is a creek crossing needed to accomplish this sewer replacement.  This crossing will require Georgia Environmental Protection and Army Corps of Engineers approval.

How this benefits Athens' residents: This sewer main replacement/realignment benefits Athens residents by ensuring clean creeks, streams, and rivers.  It will facilitate access for maintenance activities to prevent sewer spills into state waters and backups into structures.  This project will additionally correct some erosion issues in the area.
